Newly Appointed Deans, Directors and HoDs Undergo Orientation

The Human Resource Department (HRD) of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has organised a two-day orientation programme for the newly-appointed Deans, Directors and HoDs at the University’s Council Chamber.

In delivering the purpose of the gathering, the Registrar, Mr Ebenezer Kofi Boakye stated that the event gives the position holders first hand information about administrative procedures and also, immerse them deeply into the mission and vision of the University. This he said will empower them more than ever before to help achieve the vision of the Institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Ing. (Prof) Osei-Wusu Achaw asked the new managers (Deans, Directors and Heads of Department) to be conversant with the University Statutes, administrative procedures and structures as well as being abreast with the core principles of the Institution.  He stressed the need for office holders to exhibit high sense of honesty and leadership to realize the Institution’s dream of becoming a world-class technical university.

The Vice-Chancellor embraced the enthusiasm of the staff with newly-appointed positions and encouraged them to work persistently to achieve positive results so as to engender rapid development of the University.

The extensive programme consisted of presentations from the top officials of the University in the areas of leadership, core duties, career development, promotions as well as lessons about institutional best practices. The programme also aided the newly-appointed staff to familiarise themselves with the modalities that pertain to their new positions, as well as the expectations that the University has of them.
